The Original Sin is Intellectual, Not Moral

Man is naturally neither evil nor good, but he is naturally more inclined to rationalize evil as good than to replace evil with good. The original sin is intellectual, not moral. The way to absolution is through teaching and learning, not preaching and yearning.

Thus, to create a free society is not to accomplish the impossible task of convincing all people to abandon aggression, but to accomplish the essential task of convincing enough people to abandon the belief that aggression is ever legitimate.
