A Reason Why the World is Not a Better Place

The most obvious reason why the world is not a better place is that nearly all of its otherwise intelligent and principled inhabitants believe that the thing that holds it together is monopolized violence, aggression, and plunder. This is why it should change. And this is why it may change.
